What is Dementia? How gerontech can help in managing patients’ daily life, behavior and emotion?
Today, there is a person diagnosed with Dementia in every 3 seconds in the world. 1 in every 10 local seniors over 70 years of age suffers from Dementia in Hong Kong and the prevalence rate of seniors over 85 years of age is even higher and up to one-third. This situation should not be overlooked. (Reference: Hong Kong Alzheimer’s Disease Association)
Occupational Therapist from the Jockey Club “age at home” Gerontech Education and Rental Service will introduce more and how gerontech can help in the workshop.
The Centre is now holding an exhibition with the theme of “Understanding Dementia” to exhibit the information and various equipment for supporting the seniors suffered from Dementia. We welcome all who are interested to visit our Centre.
The event is free of charge.
