The Jockey Club “age at Home” Gerontech Education and Rental Service Centre operated jointly by the Hong Kong Red Cross and Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service – Hong Kong. The centre is open to the public for various kinds of education activities and provides one-stop assessment and consultation services to people in need.
The Center also serve as a platform to provide gerontech information, personal consultation, guidance and training to elders and carers to build up their capability and confidence of “ageing in place”.
There is a simulated home setting with various kinds of gerontech equipment in the centre, it allows elderly, their carers, and the general public to have hands-on experience on gerontech equipment. Our team helps visitors to learn more about gerontech through various experimental learning activities, such as interactive workshops, and provides relevant information to assist the visitors to choose and rent suitable equipment.
In addition, our Care Equipment Counsellors introduce and recommend suitable equipment to the elderly based on their needs and refer special cases to occupational therapists.
The centre is committed to support and provide training to people who are working in related fields.
